What Does a Dental Bridge Do?
A dental bridge replaces one or more missing teeth by anchoring to the teeth on either side of the gap. The anchor teeth are fitted with crowns, and an artificial tooth (or teeth) fills the space between them. The result is a natural-looking restoration that stays securely in place.
Getting a CEREC Crown or Bridge
Dr. Hudzinski takes x-rays to ensure a crown or bridge is the right solution. From there, you can expect the following steps:
- Preparation involves removing decay, if necessary, and reshaping the tooth to receive the crown.
- A 3D digital scan captures precise measurements of your tooth without messy impressions.
- Using CEREC software, Dr. Hudzinski designs your custom crown on-screen.
- The design is sent to an in-office milling unit, which crafts your crown from a solid block of ceramic.
- Dr. Hudzinski checks the fit, makes any adjustments, and bonds the crown to your tooth.
If you have a crown, you know the routine: One appointment to have the tooth prepared and get a temporary, a two-week wait, then another appointment to have the final crown placed. At Hudzinski Dental, we have a more convenient solution: CEREC same-visit crowns and bridges.
