Technology

Dental technology has changed a lot in the past decade, and our patients notice the difference. At our Mayfield Heights dental office, modern tools help us spot problems earlier, plan treatment more precisely, and complete procedures that once required multiple visits in a single appointment. The result is care that's more accurate, more comfortable, and more efficient than it's ever been before.

CBCT Cone Beam Technology

A CBCT scan produces a 3D image of your teeth, jaw, and surrounding bone. Unlike standard x-rays, it shows depth and structure from every angle. We use it to plan dental implants, evaluate bone volume, and assess complex cases before treatment begins. Having this level of detail before we start helps us place implants accurately and avoid surprises during procedures.

CEREC® Same-Day Restorations

CEREC allows us to design, mill, and place a crown or bridge in a single appointment. We scan your tooth digitally, design the restoration on-screen, and mill it from a ceramic block while you wait. There's no temporary crown, no second visit, and no waiting weeks for a lab. Most restorations are complete within a few hours.

Digital Scanners (iTero and Primescan)

Instead of traditional putty impressions, we use digital scanners to create a precise 3D model of your teeth. The scanner captures thousands of images per second and builds a complete digital model within minutes. We use it for Invisalign treatment planning, crown and bridge preparation, or anytime we would need dental impressions. The process is faster, more comfortable, and more accurate than conventional impressions.

AI Dentistry Technology

Overjet is an AI tool that analyzes your dental x-rays and highlights areas of potential concern, including early decay and bone level changes. It works alongside the dentist's clinical judgment, not instead of it. Think of it as a second set of eyes reviewing every image. It helps ensure that small problems are less likely to be missed before they become bigger ones.

3D Printing

Our in-office 3D printer creates custom dental appliances with precision and speed. We use it to fabricate surgical guides for implant placement, retainers, night guards, and study models. Because everything is made on-site, you spend less time waiting and more time benefiting from appliances designed to fit your mouth exactly.

Intraoral Cameras + Digital Photography

An intraoral camera is a small, pen-sized device that takes close-up images inside your mouth. We use it to show you exactly what we see, including cracks, worn enamel, early decay, or areas of concern that are hard to describe in words. Seeing the problem yourself makes it easier to understand your treatment options and feel confident in the decisions you make. As part of our routine care, we take digital photographs of all patients, from individual teeth to show patients’ problem areas to full-arch photos, quadrants, etc. We also take smile shots for reference for Invisalign and smile design cases.

TVs in Treatment Rooms

Each treatment room has a TV mounted where you can watch during your appointment. You can follow along as your dentist reviews your x-rays and images, or simply watch something to help pass the time. For patients who feel anxious in the chair, having something to focus on can make a noticeable difference in how comfortable the visit feels.

Digital X-Rays & Sensors

Digital x-rays capture detailed images of your teeth and bone using a small sensor placed in your mouth. They use up to 90% less radiation than traditional film x-rays and produce instant images your dentist can review chairside. We use them during exams, cleanings, and before most treatments to spot decay, infections, and bone changes that aren't visible to the naked eye.

Panoramic X-Rays

A panoramic x-ray captures a single wide image of your entire mouth, including all your teeth, both jaws, your sinuses, and the surrounding bone, in one scan. You stand in place while the machine rotates around your head to take a comprehensive x-rays. We use panoramic x-rays for new patient exams, Invisalign® and implant planning, and evaluating wisdom teeth or jaw concerns.

Your health history, x-rays, treatment notes, and images are stored securely in a digital system that's accessible at every appointment. Nothing gets lost between visits. When you need a referral or a copy of your records, we can send them quickly. Digital records also make it easier for both doctors to stay current on your care.
