Dental Implants

Today, you have more options than ever to replace missing teeth. At Hudzinski Dental, we’ll work with you to find the solution that meets all your needs, including long-lasting dental implants.

Why Replacing Missing Teeth Matters

Missing teeth aren’t just a cosmetic concern. When you lose a tooth root, the bone that once supported it begins to shrink or reabsorb into the body. Over time, these neighboring teeth can shift into the void, altering your dental bite and even affecting your facial contours.

What Is a Dental Implant?

A dental implant is a small titanium post that acts as an artificial tooth root. The post is placed surgically in the jawbone, and as it heals, the two fuse together. This process, called osseointegration, creates a stable foundation for a custom crown, bridge, or denture.

Why Patients Choose Implants Over Bridges or Dentures

Dental implants offer advantages that other tooth replacement options can't match:
Long-Lasting
Implants are a long-term tooth replacement that can last 25 years or longer when cared for properly with excellent oral hygiene and routine checkups and cleanings.
Secure and Stable
Because we anchor the implant in solid bone, it won’t shift or slip as removable dentures can. Eat, speak, and laugh without worrying about your teeth moving out of place.
Natural Look and Feel
We design your custom-made restoration to match the color, shape, and size of your surrounding teeth. Most people can't tell the difference between an implant and a natural tooth.
Jawbone Health
Bone loss commonly occurs after tooth loss. Unlike a bridge or denture, dental implants continue to stimulate bone regeneration, helping keep the jaw strong and healthy.

Frequently Asked Questions

Most adults with missing teeth can be candidates for dental implants. The key factors are healthy gums, adequate bone density in the jaw, and a commitment to good oral hygiene.

What Makes a Good Dental Implant Candidate

Dr. Hudzinski looks for several things when evaluating patients for implants:

  • Healthy gum tissue: Active gum disease should be treated before implant placement.
  • Sufficient jawbone: The implant post needs enough bone to anchor securely.
  • Good overall health: Certain medical conditions or medications may affect healing, so we'll review your health history.
  • Non-smoker or willing to quit: Smoking significantly increases the risk of implant failure.
  • Commitment to aftercare: Implants require the same care as natural teeth, including brushing, flossing, and regular checkups.

What If Don't Have Enough Bone?

Bone loss doesn't automatically rule out implants. If your jaw has lost density due to missing teeth, gum disease, or other factors, bone grafting can rebuild the area, creating a solid foundation. Dr. Hudzinski offers bone grafting and sinus lift procedures in-office, so patients who might not otherwise qualify can still become candidates after a healing period.

The Best Way to Know for Sure

Every situation is different. Dr. Hudzinski will take 3D images of your jaw, review your medical history, and provide an honest assessment of your options.

Dental Implant Treatment

The first step for getting a dental implant is a thorough examination. Dr. Hudzinski uses advanced 3-D imaging technology to evaluate the bone in the area to ensure it’s strong and dense enough to support the implant. If it isn't, all is not lost. You may be a candidate for a bone grafting procedure that will allow you to get a dental implant in the future.

Implant Surgery

Next, we place the implant post in your jaw under local anesthesia so you won’t feel any pain. Thanks to precise planning, the procedure is quite straightforward, and many are surprised by how much easier it is than expected.

Healing and Restoration

Osseointegration occurs as the jawbone heals around the implant post. Most patients can expect the implant to fully integrate in three to six months and to receive their final restoration. Depending on how many teeth we’re replacing, this may be a crown, an implant bridge, or an implant denture.

The result is a fully restored tooth that blends seamlessly with your smile.

Dental Implants Technology

CBCT Cone Beam Technology

A CBCT scan produces a 3D image of your teeth, jaw, and surrounding bone. Unlike standard x-rays, it shows depth and structure from every angle. We use it to plan dental implants, evaluate bone volume, and assess complex cases before treatment begins. Having this level of detail before we start helps us place implants accurately and avoid surprises during procedures.

3D Printing

Our in-office 3D printer creates custom dental appliances with precision and speed. We use it to fabricate surgical guides for implant placement, retainers, night guards, and study models. Because everything is made on-site, you spend less time waiting and more time benefiting from appliances designed to fit your mouth exactly.

Is a Dental Implant Right for You?

Dental implants are an investment in your oral health and a transformative option for many patients dealing with tooth loss. Dr. Hudzinski and our team would enjoy the opportunity to evaluate your situation and determine if they are the right solution for you.
